CRICKET.
The Ranjrfora Clvb 1 sent a team to Ambeney on Saturday and played the local Club there. The scdres, weire— Raoglora 45 and 75, Amberley 146/'the latter winningby an innings and 26 runs. For the winners Mason' , 44 (not oat), Adams 39, Woruald 16, and Coleman 11 were the highest scorers, while Sheath l^'ano , ff, Smifcn 16 and 20, Tyler 5 and 18, Lloyd O-'-OdA •20 were highest for Kangiora. — ' A match waa played oa Saturday between Springsstou'and West Melton Clubs on the ground ot the latter. Springeton scored 19 and 28, whilst West Melton made 34 in their first innings, and 17 with the loss of two wickets in their second inniara, and thus won the match with eightf-Avickete to spare. For the winners, G. Gudsell 11 (not out), and D. Sinclair 8 were the highest scorers; and for Springston Charleswrorth 9 and Mcßean 6 were most successful. G. Gudsell and D. Sinclair bowled well'for West Meltcn, as did D. Marshall, R. Pearson and Mcßean for Springston. A match- was played on Saturday last between the Lincoln College and Prebbleton Cricket Clubs, on the ground of the former. The College won the toss, and seat the visiting team to the wickets. They were alldisposedof forthe small score of 21. The College team then went in, faring not much better, only contributing 49, the bowling on both sides beleg very good. In the second attempt the Prebbleton team, were more saccessfal. JE. Prebble completely collared the bowling, and played a dashing inning!) for 58 runs, the innings closing for 112 runs. The College were only able to make 50 in their second attempt, leaving the visiting team victorious by M runs. Martin batted very well for the College, making 20 runs in his first attempt (not out). Baker and fisher bowled best for the College, McDowell, H. Prebble and B. Prebble for Prebbleton, the latter doing the hat trick. ' The following will play for Lancaster Park v Ashburton on Wednesday, November 26th:—Cotterill, Hawkins (2), Jacobs, Lewis, Meares, Raphael, Smith, Waller, Wanklyn and Wilding. The team will leave Christchorch by the 8 a.m. train.
