J iel Durand, sworn, said thac when he came oat of the Sailors* Home pa Sunday the accused met him, and insulted him, then the accused struck witness. "Witness then closed with accused, and, in self-defence, struck him. P;ior to the assault the accused had pat Ms hands into witness' pocket; be had some money in it. Witness took accused's hands away. Mark Thomas said he saw the last witness trying to j?et away- from the accused.
