A DREADFUL VOYAGE.

(PBKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, November 23. Private advices from Tonga report the arrival at Vavau of a schooner whose crew and passengers, about forty people, had suffered terribly for the want of water and provisions. The vessel cleared at the Customs at Nukualofa on September Ist for Wallis Island, with eight passengers, but this number was greatly augmented at Nukualofa, and also at Ninafoo, and provisions accordingly ran short. The Captain reported at Vavau that he had been unable to find Wallis Island. The company were all emaciated, and three Native women had died. The captain is to be charged with manslaughter.
