SYDENHAM BOWLING CLUB.
The Sydenham Bowling Club opened their season on Saturday. There was a large attendance on the ground both of ladies and. gentlemen?* and, besides the bowling, the two tennis courts were occupied all the afternoon. The opening rink, in which the President (Mr G. T. Booth) Messrs Deene, Campbell and Throp (skip) v Captain Meikleham, Messrs Lawrence, Brewe and .Allison (skip) took part, was won by the latter team, the scores being 21 to 16. After the opening game several young players tried their hand, and shaped uncommonly well. Refreshments were provided by the ladies, and quite an enjoyable afternoon was spent.
