MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
A Rangiora correspondent writes:—ft is expected that there will be a sharp contest between the present holder of the office of Mayor and Mr J. Manning. What the real question at issue is will be probably known when the candidates address th _ burgesses, In a local circular Mr Manning lays stress on the urgent reqmrements of a water supply for watering the streets and household purposes by the completion of the six-inch well which is being bored to the lower stratum. Messrs E. R. Good and J. ifanning were nominated on Saturday. The poll will be taken on Wednesday, 86th inst.
