GRAIN SALES.
Messrs H. Matson and Co. (associated with the National M. and A. Co. of New Zealand, Limited) report for the week ending November 17tb, 1890: — Since our last report nothing has transpired in the produce markets, in fact,, trade has been dull, the carnival week 1 completely checking business last week. Wheat—There is a fair enquiry this 1 week, but values are, if necessary, weaker, at 3s od to 3s 6d for Tuscan, 3s 3d to 3s 4d for pearl, and 3s 2d to 3s 3d for Hunter's. Oats—Best sorts continue to receive support, but. common feed is hard to move. The high rate of freight demanded for Sydney, viz., Is 6d per bag, is not in-; ducive to speculation. Prices — Best samples Is 7d, ordinary feed Is sd, common ls4d-. • ■ . - Barley—An ; occasional line finds a buyer, but the market ,ib lifeless and values nominal at 2_ to 3s, according to quality. Feed is bought at Is 6d. Grass Seeds—There is nothing doing in these as the season is virtually over. Quotations— Ryegrass np to ss, cocksfoot 4dto4|d. Beans—2s 6d. Peas—Blues from 2s 9d to 3s, feed 2s 6d.; Dairy Produce—Butter 6_d, cheese 3_d. Quotations are.Lo.b. sacks extra.
