' m in i i **" tjs LANCASTER PARK v LINQOLNf jCQLLBQB. Having an off day from Cap matches on Saturday the L.P.C. Fifteen sent an eleven to Lincoln, and after a very exiting finish the visitors won the match.-by two rune on the first Innings. The L.P.C. skipper won the toss, and sent his men in to bat, but it was soon apparent that small scoring would be the order of the dtay, as the wicket bamped fearfully, most of the balls getting up almost sky high. Cant was the only one to reach double figures, and his score was made in a manner quite foreign to players accustomed to town grounds, giving several chances. The College men followed, bat the first few wickets fell quickly, six being out for 88. The tail men, however, played up splendidly, and made a most interesting finish. Several of the Lincoln men showed very good form considering the treacherous state of the wicket. After the match the visitors were hospitably entertained, and returned to town well pleased with their outing. The following are the scores:—

Harman was bowled without scoring. Rolleston now joined Mathias, who was playing in his best form, and the stand of the innings was made. The bowling was changed frequently, and it was noc until the score had reached 119 that Mathias was well caught in the slips by A. H. Labatt for 64. His innings was without a chance, and was without doubt a really good one. He made one big hit clean out of the ground for 6. After he left a collapse set in, the innings closing for 131. A. Rolleston played a fairly good game for his score of 31. The L.P.C.C.. with 70 to win, then went in. and at call of time had lost one wicket for 50, A. H. Labatt playing a punishing innings of 33 not out. This leaves the L.P.C.C. 40 runs to get. It had not been decided yet when the match is to be finished. Tbe fielding 6f the L.P.C.C. is deserving of a word of praise, that of A. Ridley at cover being especially good. v.cc.o. First Innings ... ... ... 180 Second Innings. J.
