The local Committee of the New Zealand Alliance recently sent out papers to all the electors in the Oamarm'electorate with t&e olg&ct ef-teiiog a vote on the subject of the "Act to Extend the Principle of Local Option/ The Bill was introduced into the House last session. 868 voting papers -were returned, 661 being in favor of the passing of the Bill and 131 against it.; Seventy-six informal votes were re' corded.
