HEAVY GALES AT SEA.
[PBHBS ASSOCIATION TKUBSBAX.} Fort Chat.mebs, May 7. Arrived, noon—Hudson, barque, Kemp, from Glasgow,«at the Meads; 3.30 p.m., Bankholme, barque, from London. The Hudson left Glasgow on December 31st, and in her somewhat protracted voyage of 122 days met with heavy S.W. gales, which compelled her twice to run for shelter on the coasts of Great Britain. The barque Bankholme encountered very rough weather on April Ist and 2nd, carrying away her poop rail stanchions, part of the bridge, a skylight and binnacle, and smashing in the oulkhead of a cabin, besides doing further damage. Several of che crew were injured and Captain Puxley received a terrible gash on the left side of the b*ad, in addition to getting hia shoulder b: dly hurt and being bruised about the body through being thrown against a bulkhead. During the heavy gale tbe second officer sustained injuries to his-legs, owing to his being washed from the wheel against the main bitts.
