ANNUAL ELECTIONS.
_. _. : r - FENDALTON..'i Ths annual meeting of householders o* the Fendalton School district was held at the schoolroom on Monday. About forty householders were present. Mr E. C. Latter was voted to the chair. The Chairman of the Committee (Mr Ellis) read the retiring Committee's report, which stated that the number on the roll was 146 on the day of examination, and that only tour were absent, the percentage of passes on the whole school being 48.23, and the failures 23.59. The attendance had inincreased from 140 to 160, with a corresponding average attendance. An addition, to the school buildings was under the consideration of the Board, and a Second Mistress would shortly be required. The following pupils had gained scholarships: —Sarah Moncrief, a scholarship of _20 per annum for two years; T. Webley, a Somes scholarship. Miss Tulley had passed her examination and gained an E certificate. The two first year pupil teachers, viz., Miss Hill and Miss Ladbrook had gained 429 and 444 marks respectively at the recent examination. The Rev. Mr Stack continued to give dally Scripture lessons from 9 to 9.30. The report was adopted. The Chairman read the report of the Inspector, Mr Wood, on the recent examination. The Chairman of the Committee congratulated Mr Bullock and his assistants on the very satisfactory conduct of the school, and a vote of thanks was accorded to them. The i statement of accounts showed the receipts to be £39213s lOd, and expenditure £384 18s Id, leaving a credit balance in the incidental fund of £715s 9d. The accounts as presented were accepted and passed. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring Cqmmittee. The following were elected to form the new Committee, viz. :— Rev. J. W. Stack, and Messrs Beckett, Ellis, Pepper, Taylor, Kidd, and Schmidt. At a subsequent meeting of the Committee Mr Ellis was unanimously elected Chairman. HALSWELL. vMr J.. Ferguson in the chair. The Committee's report Congratulated householders on the efficient state of the school as evidence by the Inspector's report. The ballot resulted in the election of Messrs J. Ferguson, C. B. Candy, H. A. C. Fergusson, J. Kennedy, F. Blowers, —5 Bougen, P. Dempsey. Mr John Ferguson was . re-appointed Chairman of Committee. ... GERMAN BAY. Mr Curry presided. The Inspector's report showed the percentage of passes for the main school to be 46.51, failures nil, and for the side school 47.93, and failures 12.5. The election of the new Committee resulted as follows:—Messrs W. Curry, W. Pidgeon, J. Brown, G. Odell, F. Hart,.G. Hammond, and Jas. Hammond. HORORATA. Mr W. Baker presided. The following Committee were elected: —Messrs J. Nelson, W. Baker, T. Napier, W. Oliver, J. Thome, T. Brownlee, and J. N. Hartnell. The new Committee subsequently met and elected Mr John Thome as Chairman. AKAROA. 7Mr Dodds was in the chair. The Inspector's' report was very satisfactory, the percentage of passes being 54.75, of failures only 6.67. The election of the new Committee resulted in the following gentlemen being elected: — Messrs Dodds, Penrose, A. Wright, R. Noonan, W. H. Hennlng, Vangioni and Staples. CUST. Mr S. Head, Chairman of School Committee, was voted to the chair. The Chairman read the report of the outgoing Committee, which was considered very satisfactory, and was adopted. The following were elected a new Committee:—Messrs Henry Lee, Sidney Head, James, McKle, David .Jones, Thomas Toilet, Samuel Atkinson, James Charles. Mr Sidney Heard was re-elected Chair-
