PHILLIPSTOWN.
The annual meeting of the parishioners __ the Church of the Good Shepherd, iJB-d—ip-town, was held in the schoolroom last evening, the Bey. H, J. C. Gilbert jiresidlng. There was a fair attend A-tee,
.' Mr Woodford read the statement of -v&counts, which showed that the receipts bad been £164 ss, expenditure £164 2s id, 'leaving a credit balance of 2s lid. The "Churchwardens reported that the stipend xrnarantee had been fully met for the first lime in the history of the parish. The c_fertories amounted to £103 7a lid, an _v-rage of 5-2 0s 7d for the fifty-one days Ms& vmich the offertories had been taken ap, as against £115s on the previous year. _ne liabilities brought forward were £7 Is 4*89 than for last year. The envelope had proved very satisfactory, and they strongly urged its continuance. Staring the year the choir had been sup--pHed with new surplices, funds for which ___d been specially raised. The ladies' guild had been instrumental in materially adding to the funds of the church. The CaA-BMAN said they must con--oder the report as satisfactory, and sfeowed that the church was gaining ground. This was satisfactory to him _s_ter his labor of ten years in the district. i -Mr B. W. Mo-ntfobt moved the adops£os, c_ the report and statement of acs_gmta, which was agreed to. "The Inouicbent again nominated Mr .Woodford as Clergyman's Churchwarden, find Mr B. W t Mountfort was elected _S_-__hioners' Church warden. ~ The following were elected as a Vestry:— Messrs R. Hardie.F. Martin, J. P. Brown, W. J. Stephens, J. F. WLUcox, D.Coch hH,H-W. Liddiard. Mr Kent was appointed Auditor. After passing votes of thanks to the _•__-&' guild, the ladies and gentlemen ■who had assisted at entertainments, donors of subscriptions, the organist (Mr Mosey), choir, outgoing vestry, &c, the E_e«t--g terminated with a vote of thanks te-he C-L-lnnan.
