The Coal is a first-class Gas Coal, and forms an excellent Coko. With a weekly output of 1500 tons per week, the profit is estimated at 18_ per cent, per annum on the capital. A tunnel, which is nearly completed, will enable the Company to take out 7,000,000 tons ot coal. About £30,000 is required to construct a rail* way bridge over the Grey river and a short branch line to oonnect wiDh the existing line to Greymouth.
