TEMUKA HIGH SCHOOL.

The monthly meeting of the Committee of this school took place on Tuesday evening- Present—Messrs Gray (Chairman), Rutland, Brown, Allan, Cooper, and Storey- The Head Master reported that the attendance for the month endiofc 31st March had been as follows:—Average roll, boys 202.2, girls 182; total 38L2. Average attendance, boys 148, girls H1.7; total 5i89.8. Highest attendance, boys 163* girls 155; total 318. School had been resumed that day with a poor attendance. Mr Charles J. Goldatone had commenced his duties in the place of Mr James Gillespie. A number of applications were received and considered for the position of fourth teacher, in place of Miss Brown, resigned, and that of Miss Elizabeth Brace recommended to the Board for acceptance. Accounts to the amount of £2 lfes were passed for payment, and the meeting terminated.
