Photographer to the Governor and Elite of Canterbury, is now taking Photographs cheaper than any other photographer in New Zealand. The Cabinets are reduced from 50s to 10s per dozen, and are undoubtedly the finest finished photographs to be had in the colony. A large staff of artists are constantly employed, and the operator has had twenty-six years' experience in the art, and as Eden George perBonally supervises the work none but the highest finished photographs will be allowed to leave the studio. The enlarging, printing and finishing rooms' have been made the most extensive in the colonies, so that, excepting unusually bad weather, all excuses for delay in executing rdere are now hapoily at. an end. COLORED PHOTOGRAPHS. A" Accomplished Artist has been, lmported for this branch, and Ladies' and Children's Photographs can now be beauti-. fully colored. •..;.. . SPECIAL NOTICE. Although all prices have been considerably reduced, the prestige of my Establishment will be maintained, and ladies can depend upon their photos not being exhibited in restaurants, tobacconists, and on street corners, as is usually the case when patronising a cheap photographer. EDEN GEOEGE'S FASHIONABLE PHOTOGRAPHIC STtJDIO. Note.—As there is a photographer, im mediately next door, persons are particularly requested not to mistake my entrance. Eden Gxobco. FAMILY GROUPS. The magnificent troupe of Families, Football Clubs, &&, taken at our Studio have elicited the most flattering encomiums from the Press, and all persons who have entrusted us with their orders have been highly delighted at the results. 12 by 10 photograpns'taken of Clubs, beautifully enamelled .and supplied at 4s EXHIBITION. fFROM a Victorian Jour ai.l Mr Eden George, of Christchurch, N.Z., exhibits a splendid collection of ' photographs, which are so remarkably dear and striking as to place Mr Eden George at the head of his professions. Nothing finer of their kind, perhaps, have ever been, produced than the two portraits of Sir William Jervois and the late Sir Julius Ton Haast Scarcely if at all less remarkable '■> are the two tall - length portraits of two ladies. The wonderful manner in which the drapery and ostrich feathers are detailed in die one to the left is a proof that the operator is a thorough master of the art. Even more attractive is a frame of pedestal photographs of ladies, " taken from life." These not only have a new and original appearance, but must be regarded as a faultless production of the photoerapher's art. The whole of the portraits exhibited are equally noticeable for the natural and artistic character of the pose, the subtlety and beauty of the half-tones, and that indescribable something that painters have called quality. It is almost a pity that Mr Eden George should have entered his exhibit not for competition. PHOTO.
