[P&ESB ASSOCIATION *ELSQBAM.J The annual election, of Chairman of the Auckland Board of Education was held to-day, Eiohasd Udy was ananimously -elected. The retiring Chainnaii, Mr Upton, delivered an, address, .in which Jie. said that the Board had not now in their employ a single teacher, except those under notice to leave, four or' five, who were not classified, The whole etafl except pupil teachers was classified. Of the 573 261 had' been classified E, while the sum* ber classified ,J> was 3.33. The fewfc was, that the impulse given to study by tho University here and the impales given to' the studies of the teacheia Board themselves -had given teachers to understand that if they were to succeed they jnust &o oa and become qualified. A great reduction had heen m&de in the Board's expenditure.
