Nothing finer of their kind, perhaps, have ever been produced than .the two portraits of Sir William JerTois and the late Sir Julius vc£ Haasfe Scarcely if afc -all les» remarkable are "the *wq full - length portraits of two ladies. The wonderful manner in which the drapery and ostrich feathers are detailed in the one to tbe left is a proof that tlje operator is a thorough master of the art. Even more attractive is a frame of pedestal photographs bf ladies, " taken from life." These no*; only nave a new and original appearance, bat mast be regarded as a fauitfesa production of the photosrapher's art. The whole of the portraits exhibited are equally noticeable for the natural and artistic character of the pose, the subtlety and beauty of the half-tone*, and that indescribable something that painter* have called qpality.
