Reoaived April 3rd. 7.45 p.m. Zanzibar, April 2. Emm Pasha is organising an immediate caravan for Lake Victoria Nyanza, with the view of anticipating English plans. Major Wissman is parleying for the services of Tippoo Tib, and is endeavoring to close all the trade routes against the British East Africa Company through Massaland. The Sultan of Zanzibar has made peace between the Germans and Bevahaniri, the Arab leader. Received April 3rd, &30 p.m. Zanzibar, April 2. . It is reported from Mombasa that Drl Peters' expedition, which it Was said had been massacred at Vitu in December last, is safe, Emm Pasha's caravan, for Lake Victoria Nyanza leaves Zanzibar on the 20th ittst. . . Received April 4th, 1.15 a.m. Zanzibar, April 3.
Emm Pasha vehemently denies that he was concerned in the action brought by Stanley against Tippoo Tib, claiming damages for breach of contract. Emm's conduct in connection with the new expedition is regarded as treacherous. It is credibly reported here that Dr. Peters is at Kadwondo, near Lake Victoria Nyanza. Received April 6th, 1.15 a.ni. -~ London, April 4, Stanley is of opinion that Emm Pasha will only act Within the sphere of German influence, and that his action will not injure the British East Africa Company.
