LAND BOARD.
An ordinary meeting of the Canterbury Land Board was held on Thursday, when there were present Messrs X. H. Baker (Chief Commissioner). D. McMUIaQ, W. Kitson and A- C. Wilson. Several applications for land opened for Belecfcfon deferred from las 6 Board day war* dealt with. The Board fixed the rentals and terms of occupancy of several rons within the Midland Hallway area which werei not offered t»v auction last year; also oj some rana which could not be brought; under the operations of the Land Act and opened for selection thie y « ar * he leases o£ tho former will be offered by auction in due coarse aud the will also be lefc for short periods. Ihe offer of Daniel Gathrte for the lease of thirteen acres of land in the H#s-to» te-moana riverbed was accepted. Sewrai reports from the Crown Lands Bawpsw were dealt with and action ordered J»w takea. The Board thea adjourae4 tiU April Brd.
