ANNAT.

Wβ are under the disadvantage of having suffered the full force of several heavy gales and therefore a diminished yield may be looked ; Cor, taking the acreage as a wnole. Still there are some really handso.ne looking crops of both wheat and oats, and these will go far towards assisting the geueral average, though that is of little consolation to those who had their labour completely thrown away. The many light rains following on the wind storuis did on amount of good that can hardly be too highly valued, but with all this three or tour farmers are nerious losers. In wheat Messrs Nuttall, Moore, and Barrare far and away the best, the two first having nice even heavily headed clean crops. Messrs Colthart and Fergusson have an average show, but the latter does not appear to such strength as for some years past. Oats "are extensively grown, and appearances are in favor of a good return in quantity and quality. That of Mr Keys is well forward, thick, and will run into the forties. Mr Grey also and Mr Eraser will have a fair threshing. Grass seed stripping has had a goo»deal of attention, with tnediam results. Roots are coming more into favor every year, and will this autumn cover nearly double the usual space. A careful estimate should show an average of oats 27 and wheat 19 bushels.
