Hart, were charged at tbe Police Court, to-day, with having sold adulterated pepper, Hart pleaded that the article he had' sold had been received by him as pepper.. Dr. Gile3 replied that under the Acif "the'vendor was liable, though he had no doubt.a storekeeper could recover damages from a manufacturer, if the article had been sold, to him as genuine. An objection was taken that the charges should .hare been kid by complaint instead of by information, and his Worship reserved his decision.
