Walrarapa, 8.8., arrived at 6.80 a.m. yesterday from Sydney, via East Coast ports. Her parser reports leaving Sydney on January 2nd, at 5 p.m., passed the Heads at 5.50 p.m., breasted the Three Kings at £.90 a.m. on the 6th, rounded the North Cape at 11 a.m. the same day, and arrived In Auckland the following day at 1.30 a.m. £eft Auckland for the South at 12.30 p.m. cm the 9th, reached Gisborne on the 10th, Kapler on the 11th, Wellington on the 12th, and arrived here as stated above. Experienced fresh N.E. winds for the first twelve hours after leaving Sydney, followed by northerly winds to New Zealand coast; from Auckland strong winds with heavy head seas. She left for Dunedin at 8.45 p.m. Carlisle Castle, ship, which arrived in port from Melbourne on Monday night, was at 8.30 a.m. yesterday morning berthed at the Gladstone pier. Captain Low reports leaving Melbourne on January Ist, and passing clear of Fort Phillip Heads at 10.30 a.m. of that day; passed Wilson's Promontory on January 3rd, and had moderate and fine weather until the 12th Instant, when the barometer was very low being at 29.03. This was followed by strong southerly weather, which lasted to « arrival off Lyttelton Heads. The Carlisle Castle belongs to the old class of sailing vessels, and is one of Messrs Green and Co.'c last of the famous Blackwall line. Her officers are—Chief, Mr Beck ; second, Mr McClean; third, Mr Barff ; fourth, Mr Jones. She has the following passengers on. board :—Mrs Low, Mr Hervey (from Melbourne to London), and Mr IllingWorth (from Melbourne to Lyttelton}. Clematis, ketch, arrived from Eavelock at 4*30 p.m. yesterday. Jane Douglas, s.s., sailed for Akaroaat £.30 p.m. yesterday. . Orowaiti, s.s M and Wareatea sailed for Westport last night. * Banks' Peninsula, 8.3., sailed for Dun•din, via intermediate ports, last night. Hurunui, ship, arrived in Timaru from Lyttelton on Monday afternoon. . Maud Graham, schooner, from Lyttelton arrived at Timaru on Monday. Jubilee, s.s., is due in port to-day from punedin. Kami, S.S.. was detained in Lyttelton "fclntll last night owing to cargo arrangements, when she proceeded to the ChatJhams. . .
