CANTERBURY YACHT CLUB
Saturday saw the final race for the Commodore's Cap, which, was won by Mr McMillar's Pastime. The handicaps, which were declared Iα the morning, are shown with those of the two previous races :—Pastime, scr. (scr.) (scr.) ; Little Wonder, 15 mm. (12 mm.) (a mm.) ; Fleetwing, 23 mm. (16 mm.) (scr.); Gowan, 27 mm. (27 miv.) (12 mm.); Crest, 30 miv. (30 mm.) (15 mm.) ; Neva, 224 mm. (22 mm.) (6 mm.); Myrtle, 35 mm. (35 mm.) (t> iniu.); Lydd. 40 mm. (40 mm.) (5 mm.); Taniwha, 37miDL (42miu) <10min). Out of the nine boats handicapped for only six scarced, and one, the Fleecwing, after going a short distance went on a pleasure cruise. The course was the usual one, twice round the reef and Parson's Bock buoy, finishing at the starting point. The first boat in was the Pastime, followed by the Little Wonder and Nova. The Little Wonder, however, took the first place for points on the time allowance, Pastime second, and the Neva third. The total Ejints scored are as follows —Pastime 8, ittle Wonder 6, Taniwha 4, Neva 2, Cresc 1. The winning of this cup sees the finish of the races inaugurated by the sporting Commodore (Mr H. AUwright;, and the interest that gentleman has shown in the affairs of the Club should prompt some other ardent member to back him up, aud present another trophy to be competed for.
