RIFLE SHOOTING.
The match between the Christchurch Bine Club and the Christchurch W.M.C. Bifie Class was fired on Saturday, on the range of the former, and resulted in a win for the Rifle Club by 56 points. Each team contained six men firing with Snldersand four with Martinis. Conditions—2oo,3oo, and 500 yds, seven shots at each range. There was a rather limited attendance of members. The scores were as follows:—F. S. Parker 77. J. Tribelcock 62, J. B. Butler 55, C. Morrison 51. At a Committee meeting held on the range it was decided to issue challenges to the E Battery and Kaiapoi Bifle Club, the matches to take place at an early date. A match between the Kaiapoi Riiie Club and the Christchurch Reserve Corps, with Martini rifles, on the range of the former team last Saturday, resulted in a win tor the Reserve Corps by 69 points. At the competition for Mr Fraser*e prise by the members of the Kaiapoi Rifle Club on Saturday, five shots at 300 yds, 500 yds, and 600 yds, Mr I. Simpson was ifirst with 57 points, Mr F. N. BobiUiard second, 56 points. The competition for a prize given by Captain Whitefoord was shot for by members of the Kaiapoi Rifle Corps on Saturday, and won by Private H. Schofield, 67 points; Private G. Wright 65, and Sergt. 6. Templeton 63, being the next highest scorers.
