RANGIORA ANNUAL SPORTS
A public meeting of persons Interested in toe holding of the annual sports was held on Monday evening at the Raogiora and Mandeville Road Board office. Mr Geo. Cone occupied the chair, and twentysix persons were present. The Hon. Treasurer, Mr A. B. Blackett, read a statement of accounts, showing the receipts for last sports to have been £M 0 15s, and the expenditure £130 9s ss, balance in hand £10 5s 7d. The balance-sheet was adopted with a hearty vote of thanks to the Treasurer. It was then resolved that the Sports Committee and the North Canterbury Bicycle Club amalgamate, on the understanding that they take equal shares in the surplus, if any. bat that the balance in hand remain to the credit of the Sports Committee, except in case of being applied to meet s loss. Mr C.E. Torlesse, Captain of the Bicycle Club, expressed the willingness of the Club to amalgamate. The patrons of the sports elected were —Hon. E. Richardson, C.M.G., Mr J. Mile»Verrall, M.H.R., Mr H. Blackett, and Mr Wm. Buss. President—Mr Geo. Cone; Treasurer—Mr A. B. Blackett; Secretary—Mr W. Blackett; and a Managing Committee of sixteen persons was appointed. Votes of thanks to the retiring officers and hon. secretary, Mr H. Turner, also to the Road Board for its kindness in granting the room for meetings, were passed. The Managimr Committee arranged to meet at an early dote to draw up the programme o£ events.
