Oairntoul, s.s., on Saturday morning was inspected by the Government Inspector, and; all her boats were lowered into the water. She left for Melbourne at 4.45 S.m. of that day with a large cargo of prouce. . Akaroa, 5.8., arrived from Akaroa at 4 p.m. on Saturday. . Maud Graham, schooner, arrived from Invercargill on Saturday. She is discharging ncr cargo of timber at the Gladstone Pier. Louie, schooner, commences to load for Kaipara to-day. Isabella Anderson, schooner, sailed for Dunedin to fill up for Hokitika on Saturdayat 10 a.m. Wareatea, s.s., arrived from Westport yesterday afternoon, having experienced fine weather. Alert, schooner, was in the harbor yesterday. Otaki, ship, should be ready to receive cargo for England about the middle of this week. » Mr Joseph Moore, of the old shipping firm of Devettand Moore, died on August Ist last, in England, at the ripe age of eighty-two. Thirteen vessels were launched on the Clyde In July last, with an aggregate measurement of 23,884 tons. The total tonnage launched for the seven months is 162,5912, being the largest production since Messrs W. B.Thompson and Co., Dundee, have contracted to build for the Clyde Shipping Company, a steel twinscrew tug, of 6w tons, to oe supplied with twotrlple-expansionengines of 800 nominal horse-power. She will oa the most powerful tug In Great, Britain. The City of Paris has just improved upon her own record of two months ago by accomplishing the voyage Queenstown to Sandy Hook iv 5 days 22 hours and 20 minutes.
