Oh the coast of New Zealand, from to>ril, IBBS, to March, 1889, 47 vessels tact with accidents, of a tonnage of 9687— a of which were steamers, and 25 Bailing ressehv IK steamers and 12 sailers met frith accident by stranding; 4 sailers foundered; 5 steamers and 8 sailers were damaged by collision; 19 lives were lost on the coast.
