[PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.] , ■ WSLLINQTON, September IST. following , regulation, under the Civil Service Reform Act, 1886, is gazetted :—" A candidate, whose : work at fihy senior Civii Service examination is good on the whole, but in one or two pubjects is below the required standard, may be registered as having .achieved partial success at the examination; and on giving the, requisite notice may, at the next examination, sifa without payment of fees, to be examineSm euch one or two subjects, and such candidate, if successful in such subject or subjects, shall be deemed to nave passed the examination/ .
