THE NATIVE TEAM. ACTION OF TffI^OTAGO RUGBY UNION. [PUSSS ASSOCIATtON TSLBGRAM.]. ,-'".' DUNEDIN, August 9. At a meeting of (be Committee of the Rugby Uuion a letter was read from the Secretary of the Native team, Iα which it was stated that, although afc the time the suspicion arose it was decided not to play the four members alleged bo be implicated in Queensland, the full team at a meeting now wish the four mem bore, owing to the doubt which exists, to ba restored to grace. The Committee of the Union passed the following resolution:—" That hftviue heard all the available evidence regarding the charges against certain members of the Jfative team, and having received an explicit denial of the charges from the accused members, and a satisfactory explanation from the management, the Committee is of opinion that there are no facts before them justifying the allegations against these members of having sold the match at Brisbuue ou the 20th J aly, and that the Committee regrets that the rumors, which emauated from the Native Team itself, were not promptly coutradicted by the manaiiemeuC." NAPIER, August 9 At a meeting of the Kugby Union this evening It was decided not to sanction any match between the Hawke's Bay Ttum, now in the South Island, and the Native Football Team unless the match be played in Napier.
