DEATHS OF OLD COLONISTS.

[press association telegram. 1 KELSON, August 7. The deaths are reported to-day of three. °ld colonists. Mr Henry Lewis, who was Provincial Surveyor of Nelson, died at the age of seventy-six. He was well known and highly esteemed. Mr Joseph Simmonds, another old settler, arrived here in 1842, in the Fifeshire. He was at one time a member of the Pfovincial Council. The third is Mrs Matthews, aged eighty-four, who came out in the Olympus in 1843.
