MONTH'S SHIPPING.

There is still a very brisk export trade in grain, potatoes, hay, &c, with Australian ports, and in consequence there is not much offering for the London markets. The only vessel at present on the berth is the barque Rothesay Bay, and she ia taking in a general cargo, including a quantity of flax. She is expected to get away to sea on the 10th August. The Colonial Union Company's s.s. Ashleigh Brook arrived at Timaru on July ISth from Rockhampton, Queensland. She proceeded on to the Bluff, and there finished for London, sailing on the 29th July with the following cargo:—lß,64o carcases mutton, 400 cases meats, 60 bales of wool and skins. H.M.S. Orlando was in Auckland in July, and was docked there. She left on the 17th of that month for the South Sea Islands. The barque Coriolanus, from London, arrived at Wellington on July loth, and early in August sailed for Iquique. The barque Craignair arrived at Wellington on July 23rd from Liverpool 108 days out. This"vessel comes on to Lytfeelton to load for the New Zealand Shipping Company. At Port Chalmers the barque Ralston, from Glasgow, arrived on July 24th, and the ship Waimate, from London, on July 25th after a passage of eighty-two days. The ship Gpawa was docked in Lyttelton before leaving for Napier to finish for London. The following have booked passages for London from Christchurch to date :— Per P. and O.
