THE DUNEDIN EXHIBITION.
DUNEDIN, July 18. At a meeting of the Executive of the Exhibition the Music Committee reported that arrangements were almost completed for a first-class orchestra, largely composed of gentlemen from Christchurch and the North Island. The total amount of space applied for is 63,373 ft, equivalent to 352 bays. The manager pointed out that there are now in hand more demands than can be accommodated, and wheu the cable from Great Britain and the Cont : nent comes to hand further annexes will have to be put in hand at once. The buildings are mating good progress. These are put up in a way to make them suitable for being disposed of for wool sheds, &c, after the Exhibition, and already offers have been received for a portion of the building at rates which will ensure shareholders from loss iv this respect. DUNEDIN, July 19. The Exhibition Regatta programme for February 15th contains seventeen events. The principal events are a Champion Yacht Race, £60 and £20; a Second-Class do, £30 and £10; a Champion Open Boat Sailing Race, £20 and £5; a Champion Twelve-Oared Naval Pinnace Race, £50 and £15; a Champion Four-Oared In-ris-ged Gig Race, £100 and £20; and a Champion Scullers, £40. AUCKLAND, July 19. : The pupils of the Roman Catholic schools in the Auckland district are preparing exhibits for the coming Dunedin Exhibition, and preparation has been made for exhibits from seventeen schools.
