The Government intends to introduce tbe Trades Marks Merchandise Bill, drawn on similar lines to the Act now in force in England. DEATH OF A CAPTAIN. A shocking accident happened to Captain Hansby, of the steamer Dupleix. Last night while entering the train he fell, and the wheels passing over him, crushed the unfortunate man to death. Heavy rains have fallen throughout the colony generally. In Yamba district nine inches were registered within twenty-four hours. WESTERN AUSTRALIA. In the House of Assembly Sir H. Parkes announced that it was impossible to arrange a conference of the colonies ou the question of granting responsible government to Western Australia. He moves to-morrow that an address be presented to her Majesty the Queen on the subject.
