LESSTON v ADDINGTON.
inb match was played on the Addinecon ground, and although the weather prevented a very fast game it. ended after a tight &ght in a draw, without any score on either side. Soon after the start the Leeston men lost a fine opportunity of scoring, as after Young, Donald, and Holley had done some pretty parsing the latter player, in his anxiety to transfer the ball to Willis, passed forward, and co an almost certain score was lost. Soon after some good runs were made by Graham and Donald for Leesfon, and Pohinson and Scrimgeour for Addinsrton, and for the remainder of the spell the Leeston were compelled to act on the defensive, but succeeded in keeping their lines intact. The second spell was far more even, and neither side could claim any advantage, and when time was called the ball was about in the middle of the ground. Donald, Gralnm and Willis (hacks), and young Rlackler (who was the best forward on the ground) and Holley (forwards), played well for Leeston, while Scritneeour, Hoffc and Larcombe (backs), Kni'tht (2), Newton and Neweombe (forwards), played beat for Adriington. The Addina-ton men were of course without the services of Hepburn (2). Wilson and Fimpson, who have been snspended oy the Union, and hod they been in the tejun there is little doubt but that they would have "won.
