Loxdon, August 3. In the House of Commons the recommendations of the Committee respecting the grants to the grandchildren of her Majesty the Queen have passed through Committee without amendment. NEW GUINEA SYNDICATE. A syndicate has been formed for the purpose of acquiring and exploring land in New Guinea. The syndicate, which has a capital of £26,000, has been registered, and among the first subscribers are Lord Richard Browne, Lord Gifford, Alderman Joseph Renalds, and Mr -Kerry, the explorer.
