SENSATIONAL SUICIDE.
[per prbss association.] Received July 16th, 1.30 o.m. London, July 15. Information reached here that the Hon. Mary Acton, eldest daughter of Lord Acton, of Shropshire, has committed suicide by throwing herself into the Tergense, one of the lske_ in Bataria. Count JBlumenthaL , Altatihe- to—tl_e British Embassy at Munich, on hearing of the fatality, shot himself dead. Various stories are afloat, and the death has caused a great sensation throughout England and also on the Continent.
The Hon. Mary Elizabeth Acton, eldest daughter of Baron Acton of Aldenham, Shropshire, was born in 1866, and is consequently in her 23rd year. Bier mother was the Countess Marie, eldest daughter of the Count Arco-Valley, of Munich. Lord Acton is the first Baron of the title, and was formerly M.P. for Carlow and Bridgenorth respectively. Yon Blumenthal, whose name is also mentioned in the telegram, we believe is attach- to the Prussian Embassy at the capital of Bavaria, not the English Embassy as stated. He Ls a lieutenant in the Prussian Army.
