GERALDINE.
i Theannual meetingwas held in the Courthouse, Geraldine, on Tuesday last. Present —Messrs A. White (chairman), W. S. Maslin, G. H. Patrick, and M Connolly. A letter was read from the Colonial Secretary appointing Mr M. Connolly, commissioner vice Mr A. Sherratt resigned. The HDlice reported having visited the hotels $h Sundays regularly during the quarter. 3. list of those persons found at the public 3§ouses accompanied the report. The visits : gad been made with a view to checking 'Sunday drinking. The report was considered satisfactory. R. Taylor applied for a renewal of licence for the Geraldine fiotel, and an extension of time till ileven o'clock, both of which were granted. |The state of the Crown Hotel was discussed at length, and finally a long list of repairs necessary was drawn up, and it was decided the application should stand over for three weeks, and if the repairs were well in hand by that time, the license be granted. A temporary transfer Mt the license of the Bush Hotel was made ifrom M. Spillane to T. McAuliffe, the pertnianent transfer to be made when certain inecessary repairs of a trifling nature had tbeen carried out.
