[PRESS ASSOCIATION TBLEaHJLM.] HAWEBA, April 13. The Hawera District Court has been engaged for two days hearing the action of the County Council v the Standard Insurance Company to recover £200 on a bond issued by the Company in respect of G. V. Bate. The defence was principally that the plaintiff County had not observed the conditions of the contract in that checks of cash balances and the yearly audit of accounts had not been applied to Bates accurately and honestly. The jury found for the defendants, with costs.
