SALE OF IN VICTORIA.
fFItOM OUR OQHRKSPOKDKNT.]
One of the most successful sales of greyhounds I may say that has ever taken place in Melbourne, was held when the entire kennel of Mr. F. Richardson was sold at TattersalTs Bazaar on February 11th. Mr Munday, the worthy secretary' of the V.C.C., wielded the baton, to which he did full justice. After a lengthy remark by the auctioneer relative to the merits of, the different dogs, the first led into the ring wab the celebrated stud dog Rent Charge, having sired such celebrities as Red Hind IL, Hornpipe, Hard Cash, Hornblow, Hyacinth, besides a host of other winners. The first bid of SOgs. was taken, and by a rapid succession of 5 guinea bids, he fell to nod of Mr, Ryan for 95 guineas, who also bought the brood slut Jtptnany Lass, by Lelex—Rondeletla for 12gs. Among the running dogs a fine specimen of the greyhound was next offered in Rufford, reputed by many to be the coming dog next season Starting at 50 guineas in as many seconds he reached 150, being eventually knocked down to Mr.F. M. O'Connor for 185 guineas, the same gentleman- also buying the celebrated' dog Rubensteln for 87 guineas. The twenty-seven lots offered realised a little over 32 guineas each.
