[PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.!

WELLINGTON, January 17,

A proclamation in the Gazette notifies that recruits for the Artillery and Torpedo Corps.with the exception of specialartificers, engineers, electricians, tradesmen, ox men who have served in her Majesty's Naval, Military, or Colonial Forces, shall be selected from the members of the Volunteer Force who are under twenty-eight years of age, and have at least one year's efficient service at the time of making their application.

Mr A. W. Dillon Bell has been appointed Engineer-in-Charge of Publio Buildings throughout the colony.
