WEST EYRETON ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of this Board was held on January loth. Present—Messrs Addinell (Chairman), Sheate and Smith. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs Crysell and Sheard. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Letters were read—From Marmaduke Dixon, stating that he was charged on the rate roll for land not owned by him, and requesting they might be charged to the proper owners. Agreed to. F. Stedman, stating that Mr Tallotfc had complained to him of a culvert being removed on Prowse's terrace, and requesting the Board to replace the same. The Clerk was directed to reply, stating there was no natural water-course at the place com* plained of, and that Mr Prowse could re» sist any attempt to force the water on to his land as the law stands at present. Messrs Boyd and Keir, offering Auckland cement for sale at 9s 93 per bag, two bags being equal to one cask of the imported cement. The Surveyor was directed to obtain what was required to complete the works in hand. The Chairman reported that he had let the grass seed and dend trees on the Plantation Reserve at West Eyreton to J. Doggetl for £112s, which was approved. Mr Sheate proposed, and Mr Smith seconded —" That a general rate of £d in the £ be made and levied on the rateable property of the West Eyreton Road Board district for the year ending 31st March, 1889, payable In one sum on February 18th, 1869, at the West Eyreton Road Board office." Carried. Resolved—That, the registration fee for dogs for the current year be 10s, as formerly, the Clerk to obtain the necessary collars. Mr Andrew Frizzell paid £5, and Mr F. Winter £12 12s, for rent of reserves. Accounts amounting to £94 8s were passed and ordered to be paid. The Board then adjourned to March 11th.
