SEFTON FARMERS' CLUB.
The monthly meeting.of this Club was held on Saturday night in the Town HailThere was a fair attendance of members, and Mr John Vallance, Jan., Vice-presi-dent, presided. «. i,«,-i, a The Sechetabv reported that he had addressed communications on the proposed alteration in the railway tariff to the meSberforthe district, the Chairman of the Co-operative Association, and the *>-™udentot the Chamber o£ Commerce.
A letter was read from Mr Ensor, containing some valuable suggestions on the same matter. The Chairman said he understood that the proposed alterations were not to come into force at present, at any rate. The information was received with every sign of satisfaction by those present. A discussion then took place on the turnip crops in the district, and it was pointed out that wherever artificial manure had been applied to the land the crops were looking very well, but on land which had not been so treated the crop was a comparative failure. A statement of accounts was laid on the table, which showed a credit balance of £3 5s Id, which was considered satisfactory. After attending to several matters ol minor importance, the meeting adjourned
