SHOCKING MURDER OF AN ABORIGINAL.

In the Supreme Courc to-day the trial of Michael Griffin s |or the murder of a native near Bidley. Esperanee Bay, in lg£t M»y, was comtaenced. The statements of the witnesses ior the Crown were to tb.9 elleot that a native was arrested Griffin, who is a shepherd, was beaten m a brutal manner, and chained to Va» wheel of a cart all night. Next morning the native tried to get away, but was prevented by Griffin, who coerced another native into assisting him in doing the unfortunate man to death. After beating him again Griffin poured red hot ashes on to his neck and the lower part of bis stomach, and with, fire and a farked stick mutilated btra in a horrible manner. Griffin. %i&a. jumped on to him and thus his work.
