BOWLING.

ENGLISH v SCOTCH.

The members of the Christchurch Bowling Club played a match, English v Scotch, on their green on Saturday afternoon. At the invitation of the President, Mr R. Struthers, and Mrs Struthers, a number of the lady friends of members were present on the green, adding greatly to the pretty appearance of the place. Light refreshments were served in a marquee on the ground, and both the President and Mrs Struthers were unremitting in their .attention to their guests. The weather was beautiful, and the green, with its borders of flowers and judiciously-arranged pot plants, looked excedingly pretty. The green played very keen, being in fine order.
