Mails close for the following places as under (subject to the necessary alteratons): — SATURDAY, DECEMBER 29. For Otago, per Waihora, at 9.40 a.m.; late fee letters, 9.50 a.m.; guard's van, 10.23 a.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Arawata, at 7 p.m. ; guard's van, 8.15 p.m. train. MONDAY, DECEMBER 31. For Northern Ports. and Westport, per Brunner, ac 12.30 p.m.; late fee letters, 12.45 p.m.; guard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 7 p.m.; guard's van, 8.15 p.m train. For Chatham Islands, per Kahu, at 7 p.m.; guard's van, 8.15 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 2. For Otago, per Rotomahana, at 11.20 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.30 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Takapuna, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. Note.—Post Office holiday. January Ist, will be a close holiday. Mails usually despatched on the above day will close at 8 p.m on the previous evening. On December 31st, correspondence usually delivered by letter carriers may be obtained on application at the deliverycounter from 9 to 10 p.m.
