ANNUAL SPORTS.

T. Bell, and TL. M Wilson. The annual sports among the boys attending Mr C. Cook's Warwick House School (formerly Melville House), were held yesterday on the North Park, the weather being most favorable in the earlier part of the day, but a chilly sou'wester set in during the afternoon and made things unpleasant for those who were.not provided with wraps or ovei> coats. There was a good attendance, many present being ladies. The different events were got off with commendable punctuality, the whole of the proceedings being concluded by 5 p.m. The officials gave every satisfaction in the performance of their duties. There were good entries for each event, and some spirited contests resulted, the handicapping being very good. After the last item on the programme had been run off Mr Cook made a few remarks, and the prizes were then presented by Mrs Cook. The Challenge Cup, presented for the first time this year by the old boys, for the winner of the most points, was carried oft' by F. E. Homer, who holds it for the ensuing year. The results of the different events were as under:—

King, 35yds, dead heat, 1; A. C. Towsey, 60yds, 3. Towsey and Cuff ran well for little fellows. Tbe latter would have won had he not slackened speed at the tape. Time, lmin 16 1 sth sec 100 Yards, open, final heat—F. E. Homer 1, A. J. Murray 2, A. Hulbert 3. A fine race ensued between the three placed competitors. Horuer won by about twoyardsj the same distance separating the second and third. Time, 11 2-sth sec. 220 Yards Race, open to boys under fourteen—E. H. England 1, TE. M. Louisson 2, W. Williams 3. Won easily. Time, 40sec. 440 Yards Race, open to whole school —F. E. Homer 1, A. J. Murray 2, F. R. Bidmeade 37 The race lay practically between the first and second. Homer led from the start, aud gamely responded to an effort made by Murray to pass him about 100 yds from the tape. He won by about 3yds. Time, lmin 12sec. 220 Yards, open to boys under twelve— E. C. Cuffl, G. Cunningham 2, W. Black 3,, Cunningham led for the greater part of the distance. He was caught in the straight by Cuff, who came in a winner in good style by a short yard and a half, Black a fair third. Time, 40 4-sth sec. Half-mile Handicap, open to whole school (Messrs Petersen and Co.'s prize)— H. C. Hinge, 80yds, 1; G. F. Ronalds, 30yds, 2 ; W, M. Berkley. 60yds, 3. Won by 20 yards. Time, 2min 51 2-ssec. Consolation Race, 220 yards, open to boys under fourteen—E. M- Louisson, 1; K. E. England, 2; T. F. G. Pascoe, 3. Time, 414-sth sec.

Consolation Race, 220 yards, open to whole school—A. J. Murray, 1; A. Hulbert, 2. Time, 30 2-sth sec. Old Boys' Race, 220 yards, Handicap— P. Wood ,(4yds), 1: M. H. Lean (11yds) 2. Eighteen started. Lean showed in front fifty yards from home, with a clear lead of two or three yards, Wood, however, came up fast, aud passed Lean, who had eased off, on the tape. Time, 26 3-sth sec.
