Work commenced at 4.30 on Saturday, though the weather was far from promising for training operations, and consequently the various teams were put through their exercise quickly. Trainers, however, were compelled to send their charges home, as a S. W. wind, with rain, had by that time set in. E. Cutts, being early as ever, got through some work before the ram bega ■~ Lorraine and St. Clair doing a real good mile and a half. Ravenswiug put Parvulaand Golden Crest through their facings at a mile. Vandal and British Lion were companions in two mile work, done in fairly good style. Duncan did Helmsman over half a mile. Half Guinea was in her best form in a mile and a quarter spin at a good pace. White piloted Merry England against the Charity colt, and his mount had all the beat of it. Chain Shot and Son of-a-Gun went three miles together, the last half of the journey being at top. Exchange moved well. Tit galloped over Water Baby in a half mile flutter. Butler's lot did moderate work betwi»en the showers, and Premier, Sykes, Erin-go-Bragh, Rosebud and others had easy tasks. Hkrmit.
