ARRIVAL OF R.M.S. TONGARIRO.

[PRESS ASSOCIATION TSXJSGRAH.I Wellington, October 7. Arrived—ll.2o p.ru. on Saturday, Tongariro, from London via Plymouth, Teneriffe, Capetown, and Hobart. She brings 141 passengers of all classes, 37 of whom were landed at Hbbart, 213 sacks of mails, and 2000 tons of cargo, 600 being for Wellington, 500 for Lyttelton, 350 For Auckland, 550 for Dunedin. The Tongariro left Plymouth, after embarking mails and passengers ab 2.6 p.m. on the 25th August. Experienced light airs and thick weather across the Bay to Teneriffe, arriving at 4.3 a,m. on the 30th August. After coaling left again at noon same day. Experienced. one day's N.E. trades, then S.W. monsoon rainy weather to the Equator, from thence fresh S.E. Grades to Capetown, arriving at 1L26 a.m- 14th September. After coaling and provisioning the ship left the Cape at 6.47 pm. on tne same day. Towards Hobart she fell in with light easterly winds for three days, running the easting down in 4Sdeg. S., with continuous S.W; winds and enow, arriving at Hobart at Su23 p.m. on the 2nd October. After landing thirty-seven passengers for Hobart and Australian ports she left again at 10.7 p.vo. for Wellington, meeting on the paslege across a strong N. W. gale and heavy sea, passing Cape Farewell at 12.5 p.m. on the 6th October, and arriving at Wellington as above. The passage from Plymouth occupied 41 days 21 hours 15 minutes, or actual steaming time 41 days 3 minutes. Following are her passengers for Lyttelton—Mr R. J. Bealey,Mr J. H. Deamer, Mrs Deamer and infant, Mr G. Kettlewell, Mr I). Neish, Mr and Mrs C. Teschemaker, Messrs C. and J. Teschemaker. Second aalooa—Hr and Mrs Boocock, Misses £k>ocock (two). Master Boocock, Mr D. C/Rose. Third cabin—H. Babtton, R. Cargill, Miss M. Galbraith, Mr J. Graham, Miss A. McCarthy, Mr T. McCiay, Mr J. Robb, Mr A. Schultze, Mrs Schultze, Mr ¥. Smith.
