CATHEDRAL SCHOOL SPORTS.
Judge, Mr G. H. Merton; Starters Messrs L. Watkins and G. Kteves ; T.me-k eper, Mr F. Andrews; Committee—MessrsT. Upton, G. Ma eh, J. Sanuerson, R. Upton, and U. Chambers. The annual sports meeting in connection with the Cathedral School was held on the North Park yesterday. The weather wa s fine for the occasion, though somewhat windy. In the afternoon there was a considerable number of spectators present, the majority being ladies. The proceedings went off without a hitch, the officials, assisted by Mr C. Kiver, being assiduous in their duties. All the events excited keen competition, the little fellows in many cases being able to hold their own with the bigg.r boys. After the programme was got through, a move was made to the scbool, when the prizes won during the day were presented by Mrs Jacobs to the successful competitors. The boys were addressed by the Very Rev. the Dean, and after the customary cheers had been given, the proceedings terminated. The results were as follows:— High jump, open to whole school —J. Cane won by a couple of yards, the same distance separating second and third.- E. A. Robinson, while leading, fell about sixty yards from home. Time, 28 4-sth sec. This event last year was won by G. Lake. The winner of the Master's Challenge Cup was T. Upton, with 19 points, J. C. Sanderson being second, with 16. F. McPberson was the holder of the cup last year. _________________
