CONFERENCE.

A conference was held at the Council Chambers yesterday afternoon of the Insurance Association, Fire Brigade Committee, and Mr Ex Superintendent Harris. Tbe proceedings were conducted in private. The business of the conference was to discuss the question of re-opening of the Lichfield street station and tbe reasons for the absence from Hobday's fire of the Railway steam fire engine.
