THE OCEAN RANGER.
Yesterday the repairs to the threemasted schooner Ocean Banger, which have been in the hands of Messrs Grubb and Co., were completed, and the vessel is now in a thoroughly sea-wortby condition. Nine days have been occupied in the •work, four of which she was in dock. Today she commences to load for Dunedin, from which port she will in the future run to Melbourne in the interests of her Tiew owners, Messrs Howison and Nichol, Mr H. Guthrie, and Captain Graham, the latter sailing her. The work put into her B&e been of the usual first-class order for •which the shipwright* of the port are noted, and everything is well and nicely finished. To commence with, she was stripped of the old copper and caulked Jrom top to bottom, then re-coppered 14 feet from the keel, 899 sheet* "being used for this purpose. New pieces ja the keel and forefoot have been placed in her, and all the dovetail plates for© and aft have been re-fastened with copper. A new iron breastbook, from the foundry of Messrs Anderson, was fitted in tor'ard. New bulwarks and washboards have also been put on. She received very little work to her spars, with the exception of the main gaff, topmast, and trueseitrees, which are all new.
